Only 60 minutes drive from melbourne city centre, alkira is an idyllic rural retreat that is a haven of peace and tranquillity. The cottages have music systems and vcr's. Bring a book and luxuriate in the warm glow of the flames, pausing reading every now again to take a sip of wine and look out across the trees at the ever-changing vista of the distant ranges. There is simply no substitute for a traditional open log fire. The perfect way to refresh the body on a slow, frosty, at the night sky on a cold, whilst luxuriating in steamy hot water, summer's afternoon or even better; gaze, sleepy, winter night. Very private, have wind protection and are usable at any time of the year, they are under cover, discretely set in a landscaped garden with fragrant bushes and trees, in any kind of weather. Each cottage has it's own spa, which is truly something special. Naturally they have open fires with a plentiful supply of firewood. They are beautifully furnished with solid baltic pine furniture and colour-coordinated cottage print fabrics. Our 2 cottages have been built to a wonderful traditional design with exposed beams and extensive internal timber work. Situated on a park-like 100 acre property, looking over the adjacent state park to a 180 degree panorama of scenic countryside, the cottages sit high on a ridge, rolling hills and rugged mountains in the distance.
